Rex Jones, CEO and Founder

Originally From: Hueytown, Alabama

Favorite Dance: All of them!

Titles: 7 time UCWDC World Champion, Rising Star Rhythm Champion, Open Rhythm Champion, Showdance Champion

Growing up in his mother’s dance studio in Alabama, Rex began his love and passion for dance at the young age of 2. His mother had him in dance classes for many years, but he couldn’t stay away from other sports like baseball and football. Rex learned a lifetime of knowledge from his mother about the dance business but never saw it as a probable profession. In his 20’s Rex slowly became interested in country dancing after frequenting Bama’s finest honky-tonks. In 1994 Rex decided to go back to his roots and take on dancing professionally. Country dance took a hold on Rex and he traveled all over the world - including Japan, England, the Netherlands, South Korea, and Germany - teaching and competing. During this time, he was invited to be the co-choreographer of Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” music video and performed with her at the Country Music Awards.

Rex had great success competing in pro-am and professionally. After 7 professional world titles in the UCWDC, he decided to make a change from country dance and focused on ballroom dancing. Rex has had many accomplishments in ballroom including numerous pro-am world titles, Top Teacher awards, Top Studio awards, and he has coached many national and world title holding amateur couples. Rex’s love and passion for the business shines through in the quality of his (spirited) instruction and dance as well as his staff that he’s trained at Jones Dancesport.

Kaline Valleray Bauer, Executive Assistant & Instructor in Training

Originally From: The Bahamas

Began working at JDB: 2019

Favorite Dance: Rumba

Kaline started at Jones Dancesport as a student. She made a big switch when she left her job as a licensed nursing home administrator to work as a dance instructor. It all comes naturally to her, though, because of her Caribbean roots. She grew up surrounded by folk dancing, soca, and reggae and was able to learn American Rhythm dancing quicker than most. She has a great passion for ballroom dancing and wants to share it with others while helping them reach their dance goals. Outside the ballroom Kaline also enjoys singing, music, and painting.

“Growing up in The Bahamas surrounded by folk dance, soca, and reggae, it became natural when I became first exposed to latin dances in 2008.”

Joseph also welcomes guests at the front desk on the weekends and his outgoing and energetic personality makes everyone feel at home. He aspires to be a serious ballroom professional and train many talented students in the future.

Favorite Dance: Rumba and Viennese Waltz

Dancing has always been a big part of Bianca’s life. From a very young age she took ballet, modern, and tap classes. She started her ballroom dancing career in South Africa, at 12 years old, along with sakkie sakkie dancing (a South African form of dance). This sparked her passion. Since then, dancing has created a home and a place to grow as a person. Having the opportunity to become a certified dance instructor at Jones Dancesport has been inspiring for her and she loves sharing her dance knowledge with her students.

“Ballroom dancing can give you a sense of achievement, and it also gives you the opportunity to socialize and make new friends.”
